this is me.
I'm Caspar and I graduated as a Game Developer at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht in 2024!
I have a passion for experimenting with video games, jumping between different genres, styles, tools and teams.
Mainly a programmer, but with experience in game design too!
Submission for the Jeonju Global Game Jam in South Korea.
Created by a team of 5 in 48 hours using Unity and C#.
Receiver of the Jeonju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency Award.
Graduation project at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
Made in the Godot Engine together with 3 other students.
My roles were director, designer and lead programmer.
Worked as lead programmer and technical artist.
Maintained codebase and git repository, and worked on UI, saving and loading, day and night cycle, and gameplay mechanics.
Also created engine tools such as a river creation tool and a texture generator in Unity.
Assisted in various programming classes to help first year students learn the basics of programming using Processing, Java and Unity.
The job included explaining programming concepts to students, helping students in Unity and grading their work.
Worked fulltime during the summer months on a multiplayer game in close collaboration with lead developer.
Managed and uploaded builds using the AWS Management Console.
Also did QA testing, bug fixing and refactoring of the existing codebase.
Created various core multiplayer features like gameplay mechanics, UI and systems for an HTML5 unity game.
Also worked on engine tools for faster management of builds, and created a custom implementation of the FMOD API using JavaScript and Unity.
